Working as a senior member of the Commercial and Portfolio Team, you will be responsible for the definition and delivery of major projects which link with the goals and ambitions of the University’s strategy and objectives. The role will lead discussions with the University’s key stakeholders, including the Senior Leadership Group members, to produce detailed specifications for projects and develop approaches throughout the project life cycle. This includes defining budgets and delivery plans for projects within the IT portfolio.Working with the Head of IT Commercial and Portfolio Management, and in consultation with your management peers, and key University leadership stakeholders, the role will deliver and implement major projects bringing transformational and organisational change to working practices. There is an emphasis on Cloud Smart principles and continual service improvement to ensure new services deliver a high-quality service for the University’s staff and students.This role will be responsible for liaising with the Strategic Programme Office and the Cloud Business Office as they develop an efficient and effective way of working to deliver key strategic initiatives and cloud related projects.ITS has adopted a Cloud Smart principle, which looks to provide technical and digital services through the procurement of cloud solutions and SAAS products. Working with the newly formed Cloud Business Office, the Senior IT Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that stakeholders across the University are connected to and working with external vendors and specialists to achieve flexibility, adaptability, and cost efficiencies within the scope of their deliverables.The PersonBackground and Experience Required:Substantial experience with a proven track record of successful project management of delivering complex IT, cloud based and business change projects from conception to implementation.Demonstrable ability to develop and deliver effective working relationships with colleagues across IT Services and the wider University community, within either a traditional or matrix environment.Significant experience of initiating and managing multiple priorities, delivering to budget, communicating effectively to drive successful implementation and contribute to ITS strategic goals and objectives.Directorate/FunctionWork at the forefront of digital technologyInformation and Technology Services provides and supports digital services and facilities for students and staff to enable learning, teaching, research and administration.
