As a Senior Product Analyst you will shape the direction and growth of our accommodation booking platform and become the focal point for all data matters.You will join our Content team, which is responsible for mapping millions of hotels from ~30 partners which allows Vio.com to offer customers the best accommodation deals. The team is also responsible for the accuracy, freshness and quality of multimedia content (reviews, descriptions, images and geodata) used to power our apps and websites.Your daily work will consist in facing and solving complex product and engineering problems such as improving hotels mapping quality, connecting content quality with commercial metrics and finding ways to enrich our content with additional attributes which help our customers to book accommodation.We’re looking for a data expert who understands scalable and data-driven products and who has the technical and analytical skills to make sense of the mountain of data we deal with.What you will do

  • Play a key role in making the team fully data-driven by utilising data for measurement, ideation, decision making and prioritisation;
  • Work closely with the Product manager and engineers to define KPIs and success criteria and measure the impact of products and features;
  • Support A/B testing with design, analysis, statistical decision making and ideation;
  • Perform in-depth analysis on complex big data models to find new opportunities for improvement and growth and generate actionable insights;
  • Build automated and scalable solutions to expose insights to internal and external consumers using BI tools;
  • Work with data scientists to build and tune our property mapping models;
  • Monitor ongoing performance and perform ad hoc analysis for investigating issues in production;
  • Mentor other analysts and contribute to best practices across the analytics chapter.

What a day in the office might look likeYou start the day by checking the product and A/B tests dashboards to see if anything requires attention. Then you join the team’s stand up to communicate any urgent matters and synchronise on your plans. Then, you evaluate an idea which you previously discussed with the PM: your hypothesis is that appearance of duplicate rooms on the room selection page negatively affects conversion rate. You think of the best approach to validate that, figure out all necessary details about the required data and put together an analysis supporting the idea. During the process you note down potential data or visualisation improvement ideas and add them to your backlog of data model improvements.The team: Product manager, 4 backend engineers and 2 data scientists. You will also be part of a horizontal analytics team consisting of 4 analysts working in the wider Product Group.Who you are

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience using data to drive product and business decisions, including experience of independently leading complex analytics projects;
  • Highly analytical, data-driven with the ability to assemble, analyse and interpret data to influence decisions and communicate findings;
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge status quo and to prove your point of view to the stakeholders;
  • Experience in modelling data and creating basic data pipelines. Basic knowledge of Python/R;
  • Good theoretical and practical knowledge of AB testing and statistics around it;
  • Conceptual knowledge of ML standard approaches;
  • Expert at using SQL and developing in BI tools like Looker, Tableau;
  • BSc/ MSc or equivalent with related experience in statistics, data analysis, data mining;
  • Statistical modelling in Python (will be a plus);
  • Experience mentoring other analysts (will be a plus).
