We have many new and exciting technology projects in the pipeline. Therefore, we are expanding the Technical Production Facility with new unit operations in fermentation and recovery processes. Thus, we are now looking for a Senior Process Engineer with experience in recovery processes and associated utility systems to join our project team.

Your new role

You will be part of the project team working to expand our Technical Production Facility with equipment for fermentation and recovery processes. This means you will be involved in detailed design, construction, commissioning and start-up of our new fermentation and recovery line, with your primary focus on the recovery process. Once the equipment becomes operational, you will transition into the team responsible for daily operations, testing new technologies and producing technical API to support our development portfolio.

Day-to-day your tasks will include:

-Leading the detailed design and implementation of recovery process equipment, ensuring systems are fit for purpose across multiple use cases
-Providing technical expertise in clarification, capture chromatography, and filtration to optimise process design and performance
-Collaborating closely with project team members across disciplines to deliver the fermentation and recovery line expansion
-Commissioning and starting up new recovery process equipment, translating your large-scale operational experience to a test facility context
-Transitioning into operational responsibility once equipment is live, driving process optimisation and innovation
-Testing new technologies that will support Novo Nordisk’s future product pipeline
-Contributing to the development of both processes and culture in this growing unit

We are more than 30,000 colleagues across the globe with the shared responsibility of scaling molecules, processes, devices, and products, dedicated to supplying life-saving medicines to the patients who need them most.

The Technical Production Facility (TPF) is part of the API Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) organisation. We are responsible for producing technical API (non-GMP) for technical use to support the development of Novo Nordisk’s future product pipeline. The facility serves as an internal innovation hub to support the development and maturation of new API production technologies. As a newly established organisation, we are expanding to take on more projects, and we value the diverse professional backgrounds and approaches that our team members bring to solving complex challenges and developing innovative solutions.

Your skills & qualifications

We’re looking for a Senior Process Engineer who thrives in both project and operational environments, bringing deep recovery process expertise to a dynamic, growing team. You’ll bring with you:

-A Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or equivalent
-At least 5 years of experience in recovery processes and associated utility systems, ideally from large-scale operations
-Hands-on experience within clarification, capture chromatography, and filtration processes
-Experience working effectively in project teams, with the ability to influence both technical solutions and team culture
-Fluency in both English and Danish, with strong communication skills across technical and cross-functional audiences
