We have an exciting opportunity for a well-organised, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy clinical trialsteam with a keen interest in the provision of investigational medicinal products (IMP) and supportive care to paediatric patients.You must be able to pay close attention to detail and consistently produce work to the required standard within set deadlines.You will have good verbal and written communication skills, be a strong team player and be able to work using your own initiative within the limitsof the job role.The post will focus mainly on supporting pharmacy aspects of clinical trial study setups and study management.We welcome applications from technicians working in hospital dispensaries and aseptic units, as full on-the-job training will be given.You must be a registered Pharmacy Technician with an accredited checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification or are working toward the qualification.For further information please contact, Rasha Shamsah onemail: [email protected]Main duties of the job
- To review, design and write all IMP related documents required to support the trial as agreed with the lead Pharmacist and research team, including (but not limited to) writing clinical verification and dispensing procedures and other pharmacy trial specific documentation needed to ensure the safe handling, traceability and management of the Investigational Medicinal Products, and any supportive medicines used in the clinical trial within Pharmacy, and on GOSH wards.
- To support the portfolio of clinical trial IMPs, liasing with Sponsors and research teams from Site Selection stage to closing of the trial and archiving of all records, and to be the main point of contact in pharmacy for IMP management and records for those trials.
- Support in IMP management in the Clinical Trial’s Office
- Assist the senior staff in the day-to-day running of Clinical Trials, and the training of rotational staff
- To be fully conversant with and adhere to all current and relevant legislation, such as the Human Medicines Act, GMP, GCP, H&S,COSHH, European Directive 2001/20/EC etc. and to Trust policies.
- To oversee the safe management of clinical trial medicines (IMPs) in accordance with Good Clinical Practice for IMPs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- To adhere to the Pharmacy and Clinical Trials support service SOPs and communicate effectively with the Senior Technician forClinical Trial
