Role and ResponsibilitiesSenior Operations ResearchWe are seeking a motivated professional with a technical lead role to work on our optimization engines, mostly for crew scheduling, flight recovery, flight planning, and airport resource management.Role and responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate should be able to understand the underlying logic of airline operations and seek improvement opportunities
  • Have the knowledge and experience to guide others to extract and manipulate any needed data and develop/improve the optimization models
  • This position requires strong communication skills to work with internal functional teams and customers as a technical expert to understand business problems, discuss approaches, present results, and provide advice
  • This role may require travel (much of it international) up to 40% once the pandemic ends

Our ideal candidate has:

  • At least Master’s in Operations Research, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a similar field
  • Understanding of mathematical programming models like LP/IP, network flow, graph theory, column generation and large-scale optimization, and statistical and/or machine learning models for real-world optimization or predictive modelling problems
  • Understanding typical algorithms in solving large-scale LP/IP problems and their computational complexity
  • Coding experience using Cplex or Gurobi and languages like C++ or Java, C#, etc.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning and data analytics
  • Experience in script languages like Python, Panda, etc., for data processing and result analysis
  • Work experience in solving crew scheduling or flight recovery problems is necessary
  • Good knowledge of airline operation
