The position

We are looking for a (Senior) Medical Advisor, Rare Diseases, to join our team at our Gatwick office this is a hybrid office-based position. You will be a key player in our medical affairs team, providing advanced clinical and strategic expertise to support the development, launch, and commercialization of our products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including research and development, regulatory affairs, medical information, sales, and marketing.

In addition, you will:

-Lead and oversee the medical strategy for the assigned therapeutic area, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
-Provide advanced medical input into study designs, regulatory submissions, and the development of medical guidelines.
-Contribute to the development of Rare Diseases Medical Affairs strategy and plan in association with medical leadership team based on the insights of the unmet needs of patients, HCPs, and health systems.
-Work closely with internal teams to ensure compliance with medical regulations and standards, while maintaining a focus on patient safety and product efficacy.
-Guide the development and execution of medical education and training programs for healthcare providers and internal teams.
 

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you need to be qualified UK registered MD or PharmD.

You also have the ABPI final medical signatory qualification, or you are willing and capable of being trained & passing the examination within 6-12 months.

Other requirements are:

-Strong mentoring skills with a track record of mentoring medical professionals and junior team members.
-Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex medical information to diverse audiences.
-Strong business understanding e.g. Industry experience
-Ability to think strategically while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
 

About the department

Medical Affairs is a department within the Clinical, Medical & Regulatory (CMR) department responsible for medical and scientific dialogue supporting the appropriate use of innovative treatments including Novo Nordisk products. Medical Affairs ensure that Novo Nordisk’s activities are undertaken in an ethical and appropriately scientific manner, thereby safeguarding the trust and respect of HCPs and patients.

Medical Affairs is made up of an office team of Medical Advisors and a field team of Regional Medical Advisors.
