Senior Market Risk Manager

Permanent, full-time, hybrid (3 days per week in an office) #LI-Hybrid

To support the continuing development of this highly successful business, we require a dynamic professional to play a key role in supporting the Market Risk department with its responsibilities. This role will sit within the Wholesale division and it will focus on managing and monitoring the intraday, and overnight risk stemming from the various business lines to help protect the firm’s capital.

• Monitoring the risk of client and firm positions against approved mandates and escalating any breaches where required.

• Monitor intraday price movements and stay abreast of market developments which could impact the company and / or clients.

• Involvement in projects which will cover new business / trading related initiatives.

• Ensuring timely completion of daily / periodic items.

• Assist in the creation and analysis of risk reports and escalating issues to management where required.

• Analysis and approval of client requests.

• Work towards streamlining and reviewing risk processes and procedures to help find efficiencies.

• Keep Market Risk procedures up to date as and when any significant changes occur.

• Ad hoc duties as required.

Knowledge and Experience

• Extensive experience within Market Risk including knowledge of Initial Margin, Value-at-Risk, and Stress testing methods.

• Strong knowledge of products and markets that SFL is active in Products – Exchange-traded derivatives and OTC commodities.

• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all areas of the firm and communicate effectively across all levels.

• An understanding of the various trading platforms (e.g. TT, CQG, PATS, FastFill, WebICE, CME Direct, etc) would be desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or other similar disciplines.

  Skills

• Proficient using the MS Office suite, in particular Excel (experience using SQL is desirable).

• Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment, with the ability to multi-task and handle numerous requests simultaneously.

• Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail.

• Able to work as part of a team and individually, with the ability to be self-motivated, especially in the current hybrid working environment.

• Ability to communicate complex matters effectively with management and colleagues.
