Our Agents enable customer applications to run faster, reliably and securely . Our OneAgent software is actively deployed across millions of customer environments today, monitoring critical customer applications in various programming languages and platforms.

This role plays a key part in extending our Ruby Agent offering by implementing new features, changes and improvements to our Ruby Agent – written in C, C++ and Ruby.

Your role

• Development of performance and availability monitoring solutions for Ruby applications

• Working primarily with Ruby and C++ (for native extensions).

• Analyzing and understanding the inner workings of common Ruby gems

• Gazing beyond common frameworks and gems with a deep understanding of Ruby

• Independent design and implementation of new features and feature ownership

• Intensive cooperation with local and international development teams

Qualifications

Technical Qualifications

• Several years of experience as a Software Engineer with Ruby (priority) and C++.

• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry is a plus.

• Knowledge of different Ruby interpreters CRuby/JRuby is a plus.

• Knowledge of Ruby native extensions and FFI is a plus.

• Experience publishing Ruby Gems is a plus.

• Ability to focus on details but keep the mind open for the whole ecosystem.

• Team player and eager to learn innovative technologies.

• Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary for this position, which is € 56,000 gross per year based on full-time employment. We offer a higher salary in line with qualifications and experience.
