Job description

Taylor Hopkinson is recruiting an experienced Senior Legal Manager to join the Italian team of a leading IPP specialising in renewable energy, with a strong focus on sustainable and innovative solar energy solutions.The ideal candidate will provide expert legal counsel across all phases of project development, from land acquisition to ready-to-build (RtB) status, and lead the local legal team while collaborating with global counterparts.Main Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor the local legal team, setting clear objectives and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
• Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and other departments, ensuring compliance with Italian regulations and minimising legal risks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate key project agreements such as land acquisition contracts, Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts.
• Support financing transactions and M&A activities with detailed due diligence and document preparation.
• Engage with external counsel and stakeholders to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.

Requirements:

• At least 10 years of legal experience, with 5+ years in the renewable energy sector.
• Law degree from a recognised Italian university with a strong academic record.
• Proven expertise in project development contracts, financing documents, and M&A activities in the renewables field.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Fluency in English and Italian (advanced proficiency in English is required).
