Job description
The rôle is based in Paris 15, with Travels in the Group’s Countries of activity.Reporting to the Head of Business Law, Contract Management and Litigation, you will support the Group in the realization of complex EPC and EPCM, brownfield and greenfield (FIDIC and NEC type) projects for the construction of industrial sites, port and rail facilities and power plants, as well as in negotiating and monitoring strategic contracts (energy, shipping, transport, major supplies, etc.), mainly in Central Africa, South America and Southeast Asia.Responsibilities:Your main responsibilities will include:Legal management of strategic projects and contracts in an international environment:
- Negotiating and monitoring complex contracts,
- Training operational and contract management teams in contractual procedures and risks specific to our projects,
- Advice and assistance to operational management in the application of contracts.
Claims & litigation management :
- Working alongside with Contract Management, anticipate contentious situations affecting the Group’s projects and strategic contracts,
- Active participation in the preparation and legal engineering of claims and in any related amicable negotiations,
- Follow-up and management of litigation in conjunction with our external lawyers.
Development of the Group’s legal and contractual culture:
- Systematic Comparative Law analysis conducted on our production and sales countries. Risk analysis spreading within the Legal Department and dissemination to operational staff and Contract Managers.
- Improving the library of contracts templates and general terms and conditions. Training on related risks of operational staff and buyers alongside with local legal counsel and Contracts Manager.
- Implementation and spreading of the Group’s contractual standards (Golden Rules).
- Assisting local Legal and Contract Management teams in the management of our daily business contracts, working on the standardization of local contracts.
Your Profile:
- With a 5-year Degree in Law, in France or abroad, with a specialization in Business or Contract Law, ideally with a degree abroad, you have solid experience (7 to 10 years) in a similar position, in France or abroad. Experience in the construction or mining industry would be a plus.
- Experience in managing large projects (ideally experience in EPC and EPCM),
- Fluency in French and English is essential, Chinese would be a plus,
- Good coordination and teamwork skills,
- Ability to lead, dialogue and collaborate easily with people of all levels, in a multicultural context,
- Initiative and results-oriented,
- Good analytical and anticipatory skills,
- Open-mindedness and intellectual curiosity,
- Crisis management.
