You will join The Office of the Legal Adviser which plays a key role in enabling smooth operations of the NCI Agency in support of NATO 2030 and digital transformation. This Office advises on a wide range of legal matters and is responsible for identifying legal risks and advising on mitigation strategies across the entire organization. This Office works closely with many internal and external stakeholders including business operations, HR, Acquisition, the NATO Enterprise, and individual NATO nations.We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Senior Legal Counsel (Digital Transformation and Employment Law) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:Advise on procurement processes, contracts, and service level agreements related to outsourcing and procurement of technology solutionsGuide stakeholders in various departments including Acquisition, Business Operations, Human Resources, Security and CybersecurityAnticipate and advise on contractual, compliance and regulatory matters relevant to external providers such as: procurement and financial regulations, data privacy and cybersecurity, export control, internal and external employment/labor rules, intellectual property, asset usage or transfer, and evolution of liabilities in the context of artificial intelligenceSupport and conduct dispute resolution and negotiationsIdentify and track evolution of relevant internal NATO rules and related law in NATO nationsSupport or lead legal and compliance enhancement projects in a variety of areasPerform other duties as appropriate in the overall work of the Office of the Legal AdviserDeputise for higher grade staff, if requiredFor a full list of duties, please review the on the NCI Agency career site.About you:The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally certified University in Law and 3 years post-related experienceDemonstrated experience in the public or private sector with exposure to a combination of issues such as: technology/cybersecurity matters, data privacy, acquisitions, procurement, litigation/arbitration, and administrative review processesKnowledge of public international lawExcellent written and verbal advocacy skills including the ability to analyse complex questions quickly and draft succinctlyExperience adapting advice to deal with related legal issues cutting across transatlantic legal regimesVery strong ability to produce legal documents and presentationsFluency in English, both written and spokenWhat we offer:Genuinely meaningful work as part of the most successful alliance in history3 year contract with competitive tax-free monthly salary of €7,540.44 and household and children’s allowancesPrivileges for expatriate staff including expatriation and education allowances (where appropriate) and additional home leaveExcellent private health insurance schemeGenerous annual leave of 30 days plus official holidaysNATO Pension SchemeDevelopment programs such as professional training, wellbeing, and moreTo learn more about NCI Agency and our work, please visit our .The NCI Agency prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer.
