The position

As Senior Lead Category Manager within Drug Substance Outsourcing, you will be responsible for defining the strategy and securing supply availability within the chemically produced Sidechain category.

Your key responsibilities will include:

-Developing category related market insights to identify trends and dynamics, ensuring sourcing opportunities and risks are identified and acted upon
-Owning and developing sourcing strategies that secure supply to Novo Nordisk in the short and long term
-Sourcing and contracting items within your category to enable availability for manufacturing, ensuring they meet Novo Nordisk’s defined requirements in terms of quality, timing, and competitive terms
-Providing sourcing advice to support innovation and decision making with a time horizon of up to 10 years
-Collaborating strategically with key suppliers
You will be working with global Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs), hence you should expect up to 20 days of travel activities per year. This position holds ample opportunities for personal and professional development and will quickly establish you as the go-to person within your area, giving you exposure to management.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, we imagine you to:

-Hold a master’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, engineering, or any other relevant field
-Possess a strong experience within procurement/strategic sourcing from a large international organization
-Have a good understanding of chemical processes
-Be fluent in English, both written and spoken
It would be considered as a plus if you have already worked within the pharmaceutical industry.

As a person, you have a commercial and strategic mindset, with the ability to quickly understand different complex business models and industry dynamics. You can put the strategy into action by breaking the bigger picture down into sourcing-related decisions. You can keep a holistic view on the entire Category, together with your team members, as well as its impact on other pieces of the supply chain, while still being into the details of your specific projects. Lastly, you enjoy working in a multicultural and fast-paced environment and are always willing to share your knowledge with your colleagues.

About the department

You will be joining the Drug Substance Outsourcing department, which is part of Global Strategic Outsourcing & Devices function located in Bagsværd, Denmark. We have the global direct spend responsibility of managing a network of outsourced partnerships for Product Supply. Our Drug Substance Outsourcing department is a dynamic and diverse team of Category Managers with different levels of experience, nationalities and backgrounds. The department has direct impact for Novo Nordisk ability to supply to patients.
