Position: Automation Lead Engineer
Location:Asturias, Spain (remote work with site visits covered by business travel expenses)
Contract Duration: Until the end of 2025, with potential extension through 2026 and beyond

Job Overview:
Join a sustainability-focused project aiming to advance the production of high-performance battery components for electric vehicles. As the Automation Lead Engineer, you will manage and oversee the scope, budget, timing, and quality of automation technology packages, ensuring seamless integration and project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the automation engineering team in designing and implementing automation systems.
* Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of automation equipment.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met.
* Develop and maintain reliability programs for automation systems.
* Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
* Provide technical expertise in procuring automation equipment and materials.

Technical Requirements:

* Master’s degree in Automation, Electrical, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years in automation engineering, preferably in automotive or battery manufacturing.
* Expertise in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial automation technologies.
* Strong knowledge of control systems and automation design principles.
* Proven experience managing large-scale projects and engineering teams.

Non-Technical Requirements:

* Strong project management, organizational, and decision-making skills.
* Team leadership in a matrix organization.
* Open-minded, innovative, and eager for self-improvement.
* Proficiency in MS software and structured, independent working style.

Languages:

* Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
* Proficient in reading and discussing technical documents in English.

Other Details:

* Business travel required (mainly within Spain, particularly Barcelona). Expenses reimbursed.
* Competitive market rates for Spain (all-in, no additional expenses except pre-approved travel).
* Interviews involve both regional and global engineering teams.
