This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Operations Manager to join us during a pivotal period of transformation within HR Services at BT Group.

Based in Bristol, you will lead a large team, both onshore (Bristol) and offshore (India), playing a critical role in shaping the future of HR operational support for all UK colleagues across BT Group. You will drive and enhance operational excellence as we expand and deliver a broader range of services, while ensuring that BT Group remains safeguarded against legal, financial, or reputational risks in the way we support our colleagues.

This role provides a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact function during a time of significant change.

What you’ll be doing

•Leads HR Operations teams to implement people strategies and standard operating procedures, supporting organisational strategic and operational objectives.

•Directs organisational pillars, ensuring alignment with processes, procedures, and accurate, timely reporting.

•Resolves complex business issues by applying external best practices across HR disciplines and fostering collaborative partnerships with stakeholders.

•Oversees the implementation of organisational policies and procedures, ensuring desired outcomes are achieved.

•Builds and maintains strong relationships with teams and stakeholders, acting as an inspiring leader and effective collaborator.

•Demonstrates expertise in managing and leading large teams, driving high performance and engagement.

•Successfully leads and implements substantial change programmes using strong change management and project management skills.

•Handles complex, high-pressure situations confidently, providing clear feedback and managing multiple senior stakeholders effectively.

•Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance colleague experiences, streamline processes, and optimise costs, with a focus on digital self-service.

•Uses data and analytics to measure service delivery, identify trends, and provide proactive solutions to business units.

•Mentors and coaches team members to develop skills, promote high performance, and position HR as a valued career path.

The skills you’ll need to succeed

•Extensive knowledge of HR services policies and processes, as well as legal and regulatory compliance requirements.

•In-depth expertise in SAP SuccessFactors (or similar HR systems), including HR core data management and position management (preferred).

•Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships.

•Strong focus on enhancing colleague experience, with excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for all levels of management.

•Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, coupled with demonstrated experience in effectively managing and leading teams.

•Skilled business influencer, capable of collaborating cross-functionally with business, operational, and technical teams to achieve organisational goals.
