The ideal candidate will lead a team developing ML models that enhance and optimize graphics rendering pipelines, combining deep technical understanding of modern graphics APIs with machine learning expertise. This role requires experience handling the complexities of production systems where performance, reliability, and resource constraints are critical considerations.Role Description:As a Senior ML modeling engineer, you’ll guide a team of ML engineers in developing neural network solutions for graphics-related challenges. While hands-on D3D12 implementation experience isn’t required, you’ll need a strong theoretical understanding of modern graphics pipelines, ray tracing concepts, and real-time rendering techniques to effectively lead projects and make architectural decisions.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of ML engineers, fostering innovation while ensuring production-ready deliverables
• Drive the development of ML solutions for graphics-related challenges, particularly in rendering optimization and computer vision
• Architect ML pipelines that integrate with modern graphics systems while meeting strict production requirements
• Guide the team in developing and training neural networks for computer vision and rendering applications
• Collaborate with graphics engineers to identify and implement practical ML-based optimizations
• Establish best practices for data collection, model training, and evaluation specific to graphics applications
• Balance innovation with production stability, ensuring solutions are both cutting-edge and reliable

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in machine learning, with at least 3 years focusing on computer vision or graphics-related applications in production environments
• Proven team leadership experience and strong mentoring abilities
• Deep understanding of modern graphics concepts including ray tracing, shading models, and real-time rendering pipelines
• Extensive experience with neural network architecture design and training methodologies
• Strong background in computer vision and image processing
• Thorough understanding of D3D12 concepts and modern GPU architectures
• Experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch) and related infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience handling production-specific challenges such as:

• Resource optimization and performance tuning in constrained environments
• Managing ML systems with strict latency requirements
• Implementing robust error handling and fallback mechanisms
• Scaling solutions across multiple hardware configurations

Desired Experience

• Background in game development or real-time graphics applications
• Experience with ML applications in rendering optimization
• Familiarity with graphics debugging tools and performance analysis
• Published research or patents in computer vision or ML for graphics
• Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed training systems
• Knowledge of MLOps practices and deployment pipelines

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Has a Master’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent
