SummaryThe Department of Radiology is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to serves as the primary financial resource for the department. The Senior Financial Analyst collaborates with the Administrator, Chair, key Faculty leaders, and administrative staff to effectively and efficiently manage the departmental finances, including budget, forecast and variance reporting; purchasing and expense transactions; assist with development and management of faculty compensation plans and processes; provide financial data and proformas for business planning and development; liaison for Rad Partners (RP) clinical services revenue and annual contract reconciliation; research, contracts and grants funds reporting; and special projects.The Department of Radiology at Baylor College of Medicine has Affiliate Partnerships where our faculty radiologist are focused on providing quality patient care, education and research at Harris Health Systems ,CHI-Baylor St. Luke’s, Texas Children’s Hospital and Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center all located in the Texas Medical Center. This position is located at Baylor College of Medicine’s Main Campus, in the Radiology, Chair and Administration office.The successful candidate will have strong analytical and data gathering skill, familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects) Advanced skills with Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Previous work experience in an academic medicine environment is a bonus.This position may be eligible to work hybrid within the Greater Houston, TX area after an onboarding and training period.Job DutiesThe Senior Financial Analyst performs financial analysis and reporting for the department and its complex service agreements and Affiliations. Develops and prepares special financial reports and performance dashboards. Presents recommendations to management based on financial results.
- Performs complex financial reporting, designs and maintains pertinent databases including performance dashboards for Affiliation services.
- Gathers and organizes data and coordinates the budget preparation.
- Analyzes and reports on budget variances and budget forecast.
- Prepares and processes finance and budget adjustments.
- Manages the proformas for Concept Acceptance.
- Prepares financial cases for business planning and strategy meetings.
- Communicates regularly with various internal and external stakeholders to facilitate collection and analysis of financial data.
- Serves as point of contact on financial issues for Radiology.
- Reviews and approves financial entries and transactions, such as journal entries or purchase orders.
- Interacts with other units and teams in Finance.
- Participates in process improvement efforts in the department and College.
- Reports on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews.
- May consult on systems solutions for accounting issues.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant master’s degree in finance, accounting or related field.
- Five+ years of business finance or other relevant experience.
