Applying technical and business knowledge, you will work with different Technology groups to make improvements to new and existing products, ensuring successful outcomes. In this role you should be able to apply system engineering methodologies such as requirements definition, system architecture and integration, analyses, configuration management, and risk management in the design phase of products. The role requires excellent theoretical knowledge and an established foundation of function skills within mechanical design.As a Senior Engineer Mechanical Component, you will be responsible for:
- executing and leading the design, mechanical analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles for the GT components,
- adhering projects to business and industry standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements (including mechanical engineering for all products),
- complete understanding of the intended use and expected capabilities of the sub-system or sub-component and its level within the delivered structure,
- performing systems engineering tasks at the sub-system or component level,
- recommending, with guidance, the approach to meet the technical and program requirements,
- leading design activities and reviews to provide technical guidance and to share project related status updates,
- assuring control of the assigned work scope in terms of spent hours, global resource engagement, assignments, budget, plans progress,
- developing action plans, with guidance, to respond to issues/problems,
- providing technical leadership and mentoring to cross functional teams supporting the assigned project,
- assuring the quality of the Supplier qualifications processes for the GT Components,
- check of the internal standards, drawings & specifications, check of the customer drawings & specifications, check of the Installation Design Manuals,
- proactively contribute to Design Practices and Analysis Practices creation within System domain,
- act as a subject matter expert for the cross functional team for the New Product Development, Ready To Serve and Requisition projects.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a degree in Engineering and relevant experience in Engineering/Technology
- Have significant working experience in similar area of competency (Mechanical Component)
- Have significant experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA
- Have a good background in CAD Software such as NX
- Demonstrate team player attitude and inclusiveness
- Have ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
- Demonstrate experience of leading, mentoring, and motivating teams in a technical environment
- Have problem solving skills
- Have a sub-system mindset
- Be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal English
