Position Responsibilities: 

-Work with business stakeholders and product owners to understand the business domain and related data 

-Prepare data for modelling, including data ingestion, cleansing 

-Design and implement data processing pipelines in the cloud 

-Store data and make it available as required in a scalable, cost-efficient way 

-Stay up to date with latest data engineering tools and technologies, propose right tool for specific tasks 

-Present and communicate solutions to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders 

-Participate in demos and reviews 

-Train, coach and mentor other team members demonstrating aptitude for and interest in data engineering. 

-Proactively seek ways to incorporate new and creative ideas and methodologies into SaaS solution engineering. 

The successful candidate will have/possess: 

-Passion for solving practical problems, innovative and proactive attitude. 

-Proven record of designing and building scalable, efficient data pipelines to solve business problems  

-Advanced Python and SQL programming skills 

-Strong RDBMS and data modeling knowledge with Oracle or  MSSQL/Azure SQL 

-Hands-on experience distributed Big Data processing using one or more of: Apache Spark, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, CosmosDB. MongoDB 

-Hands-on experience with ETL and orchestration tools, such as Airflow, Luigi, Beam, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory 

-Cloud computing experience in MS Azure (preferred) or other major cloud platform 

-Effective verbal and written communication skills 

-Organization, time management, and prioritization skills 

Preferred Qualifications: 

-Educational background in Computer Science or similar 

-Experience with streaming data technologies, such as Apache Kafka, Spark Streaming, Azure Stream Analytics, Flink or Samza 

-Experience with automated testing for data engineering and/or Data Quality Frameworks is a big plus 

-Familiarity with DevOps and CI\CD tools: Terraform, Azure DevOps, GitLab  

-Interest and/or experience with data analytics and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Tibco Spotfire 

-Domain understanding of downstream oil & gas retail industries. 

-Some knowledge of C#/.NET, PL/SQL, T-SQL is nice to have
