Senior Emulsion Polymer Scientist – Exciting Opportunity

Are you a highly motivated and experienced Emulsion Polymer Scientist looking to take your career to the next level? Our client, a leading global player in specialty coatings, is seeking a subject matter expert in emulsion polymerization to join their dynamic R&D team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and develop water-based acrylic emulsion polymers for coatings, sealants, and adhesives.
* Execute experimental development of new emulsion polymers, from early concept to commercialization.
* Conduct lab experiments for the development of new emulsion polymers.
* Provide support for product and manufacturing challenges.
* Formulate next-generation emulsion polymers.
* Present data and findings at internal and external meetings.
* Collaborate with global R&D teams.
* Report directly to the R&D Director.

Education & Experience:

* PhD or Master’s degree in polymer chemistry.
* Approximately 10 years of experience in emulsion polymer synthesis.
* Insight into the European coatings landscape is a plus.

Skills:

* Strong knowledge of emulsion polymer synthesis.
* Understanding of structure-property relationships for coatings, sealants, and adhesives applications.
* Innovation and creative problem-solving abilities.
* Management skills for leading chemists working on similar projects.
* Collaboration within the R&D team.
* Proficiency in analytical and mechanical characterization of emulsion polymers.
* Project planning skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Fluency in English.

Location:

* The position is based in Limburg near Hasselt, Belgium.
