Reports to sector or highly complex region/site operations Business leader and/or EHS Manager one level up.Operates within:

  • Predefined goals and budgets;
  • Risk & compliance directive;
  • A heavy tactical business environment with a planning horizon of up to two years.

Job missionEach person within the EUV factory (EF) must be able to work safely and sustainably in a safe and inclusive working environment. To achieve this, the EF EHS team incorporates safety and security regulations and ASML policies into the people vision and strategy for the EUV factory. The EF EHS senior manager, together with the EF EHS business partners and safety expert teams, works closely together with factory management to help drive culture improvements, risk reduction measures, safety & security projects and internal policies. These improvements happen within the EUV factory, but often need to be aligned with a big stakeholder field globally, such as corporate EHS, (technical) competence centers as well as other factories and sectors within ASML. The EF EHS senior manager is part of the EF management team and reports to the Senior Vice President of the EUV factory.EducationBSc or MSc technical degree; professional education in the EHS domainExperience

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience including leadership skills at strategic level with proven track record in managing cross-sectoral programs;
  • Strong internal and external network on EHS;
  • Has driven results to ensure EHS improvements for their business sector;
  • Has ensured accountability for EHS at the senior management level;
  • Optimizes work processes on EHS at own sector;
  • Balances stakeholders to ensure the best decisions are taken for EHS at own sector;

Skills

  • Able to create an atmosphere of cooperation and trust. Able to change cultures and get people ‘on board’ (influencing without formal power/negotiating skills).
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English; Dutch is a pre. Communicates effectively to stakeholders; stays friendly at all times; provides constructive feedback and listens carefully to any feedback given;
  • Leadership skills at strategic level with proven track record in managing cross-sectoral programs.
  • Has a strategic mindset to enable EHS improvements within sector business priorities;
  • Team player with a robust personality that can stand up to the continuous operational priorities of a factory management team. As well as translating a strategy into action
  • Develops talent by enabling next steps for the career of the EHS employee to strive within ASML.

ResponsibilitiesThe EF EHS team is responsible for a broad work package, with the end goal to improve environment, health, safety, and security within the EUV factory, as well as shaping the EF culture and promoting wellbeing, diversity and inclusion. The senior manager creates, maintains and drives the EF roadmap for EHS and security, including safety culture growth, policy and process improvements, together with the EHS staff and in alignment with all other stakeholders.The senior manager develops his/her team (~50FTE) and gives regular management level presentations, provides management safety training, participates in safety review boards, and advises senior management and EHS business partners on important safety and security topics, policies and risk analyses. The senior EHS manager also acts as a role model in providing feedback to people on all layers of the organization on behavior, and influences the culture of EF towards interdependent on all aspects. The EHS manager does not only work on improving physical safety, but also the psychological safety, promoting diversity, inclusion, well being and security.EHS StrategyDrive EHS Strategy in line with relevant business priorities at sector level; EHS target setting at sector level;Indicates innovation and optimization opportunities. Advises key decision makers and delivers a significant and expert contribution to strategy formation for the EHS domain. Develops operating plans to meet established annual goals.Organizational developmentSecures operational excellence, continuous improvement as well as an effective, (cost) efficient and reliable enabling domain in alignment with the key principles of the organization.Defines critical success factors and changing needs. Develops, designs and maintains a roadmap substantiated with business cases, long-term business-plans and budgets focused on the creation of a solution focused enabling domain.People ManagementBuild the team of EHS experts or managers to manage full scope EHS at the sector or site/region level.EHS governanceRepresent sector in global EHS Leadership team and EHS Committee or represent region/site towards ASML Program or ASML country management and main customers.Manage EHS RisksEnsure regular Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment at site/region or sector level;Ensure implementation of relevant risk control measures to secure EHS operations for the assigned scope and measure effectiveness.EHS IncidentsManage on time and high quality follow up of reported EHS incidents for assigned scope;Perform trend analysis on EHS incidents to identify opportunities for prevention at global level.EHS Legal complianceEnsure on time closure of Legal non-compliance within the region/site or sector.EHS auditsPlan and execute internal and external audits with Corporate EHS;ensure on time and effective closure of non-conformities at sector level.Other informationThis position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.).
