Are you passionate about engaging in cross-departmental development activities and have a great sense of humour?Join us and you will be working with highly talented colleagues, every one of whom strives passionately to create better treatments and care for patients.The positionAs Senior Director for one of our Obesity teams, you will be leading and managing a team of highly skilled medical doctors and guiding them in their daily work as well as securing their personal and professional development. You will manage relationships with internal and external key collaborators, including Novo Nordisk affiliates. Additionally, ensure the medical deliveries for key development and life cycle management projects within our obesity portfolio.You will report to the Vice President of Medical and Science and become a member of the area’s leadership team and collaborate closely with the other leaders in the area. You will take an active part in developing the area as well as a lead role in various improvement projects, including process optimisations.You may expect travelling activity of approximately 10-20 days per year.QualificationsTo thrive and succeed you:

• Are a Medical Doctor by training and have documented clinical and scientific merits from a Ph.D. degree or equivalent, preferably within an area related to our research.
• Demonstrable experience setting direction, leading, motivating, and developing team members.
• Have an understanding of drug development and experience from pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Preferably have a proven track record of executing clinical trials and interacting with health and regulatory authorities.
• Are fluent in professional English.

We appreciate curiosity, empathy, and a good sense of humour as well as a wish to understand yourself even better and explore development opportunities.About the departmentIn Medical & Science, Obesity & MASH, we are responsible for the planning and execution of global clinical trials and for medical and scientific support to health authority interactions. We are instrumental in providing documentation and interpretation of clinical data leading to New Drug Applications (NDAs) and variation applications, periodic safety updates on marketed drugs, and drugs in clinical development, market access, and external scientific communication. The department is based in a project-centric organisation, and internally we work in cross-functional teams. Our key external stakeholders are the scientific community and medical experts, regulatory authorities, and market access institutions.

In Clinical Development & Project Leadership, we are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide from early development phases through large clinical development programs, product approval, and market introduction until discontinuation from the market. We ensure medical and scientific documentation for clinical submissions and maintenance of authorisations according to global standards, regulations, and business ethics.Working at Novo NordiskAt Novo Nordisk, we don’t wait for change.
