To find out more, visit or, even better, try it yourself to get a feel of what we build.What about the job?As a Site Reliability Engineer at Divio, the overall performance, security, cost-effectiveness and reliability of the cloud infrastructure are in your hands (no pressure). Together with the team, you manage the entire software development life cycle, end to end. This includes creating robust solutions that follow security and good engineering principles, constantly monitoring and improving the system, replacing “boring” manual tasks with powerful automation, answering swiftly to client queries (L3 only, don’t worry) and participating in the “on-call” rotation. In all those activities, you act wisely and with foresight, make accurate estimations, and assess the consequences of your actions thoroughly.At Divio, you will be able to touch everything, to bring your own ideas to the table and (hopefully) to have fun. However, we also care for excellence and expect you to fit into the mindset of the existing SRE/engineering team. You understand that your work is not only about programming. Your proactive nature makes it easy for you to anticipate problems and communicate any risks at an early stage. If something goes wrong, you avoid passing the blame and take on the responsibility for your work. You can see the impact your work has on others and if there is an issue arising you address it positively. You are helpful and considerate with your team members and if you can, help others to grow. On the other hand, you do not hesitate to ask for help and are actively seeking to learn from more experienced colleagues. You are passionate and continuously stay up-to-date with industry developments.As a heads up, the recruitment process at Divio is only 3 steps: (1) a short meeting of around 30 minutes to get to know each other, (2) a no-code technical interview of around 1.5 hours with the subjects given in advance, (3) a final administrative meeting to settle on the salary, conditions, contract, etc.RequirementsMust have / very good expertise in:

• Configuration management softwares (Ansible, Terraform)
• Docker, IaaS providers and Cloud Native Technologies (AWS, Azure)
• Linux system administration and optimization
• TCP/IP network stack (including UDP), web-related protocols (HTTP, TLS, DNS,…) and load-balancing

Important / expertise in:

• Backing services such as PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, ElasticSearch, etc. including setup, administration, scaling, and monitoring thereof
• Experience in programming (Go, Java, …) with a strong preference for Python (heavily used at Divio)
• Scripting languages (Bash, Python)
• Git

Nice to have:

• Experience with Django or other Python-based web frameworks
• Experience with other cloud providers (e.g. Google Cloud)
• Knowledge of Kubernetes

Core competencies / soft skills:

• Very professional in contact with clients and a high degree of empathy to assess their concerns properly and rapidly
• Extremely reliable character, able to work independently and to cope with pressure
• A team player experienced in working in intercultural and remote teams
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
• Avidity to learn and improve
