Job description
The core business of our client is in operating a power exchange for Central Western Europe, the United Kingdom and the Nordic countries.
The company develops own cloud platform which enables operation activity of the business.
Platform aiming at managing local flexibility trading between Flexible Service Provider and TSOs / DSOs fostering renewable and demand response integration into the grid and coordinating TSO and DSO flexibility needs.
You will join an agile team responsible for the development, test, configuration and deployment of a market platform hosted on the Cloud (GCP) and based on a Kubernetes cluster.
Your main role will be to:
– middleware configuration and provisioning such kafka, elasticsearch, postgresql in a kubernetes context
– Develop and maintain DevOps automation
– Bring DevOps technical expertise organization wide
Responsibilities
Manage production environments including configuration, troubleshooting, performance turning, scaling of the components such as: kafka, elasticsearch, PostgreSQL;
Manage, backup and restore data at scale;
Contribute to environment automated provisioning through terraform in GCP;
Managing software development infrastructure (gitlab, SCA, artifact/docker registries);
Maintaining and improving CICD pipelines in gitlab (from build, through automated tests up to environment deployment);
Manage environments configuration and services deployment based on Kubernetes cluster (helm chart, k8s yaml);
Skills
Must have
PhD or Engineering Master degree in computer science with significant professional experiences in SaaS, ideally in the energy or finance area
Minimum 5 years of professional experiences as a DevOps/SRE
Production experience with kafka, elasticsearch, PostgreSQL
Significant DevOps experiences with cloud hosted solutions with strong requirement in terms of availability, scalability and security.
Used to work in an Agile/Scrum framework
Good communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
Technical expertise in the next technology stack:
– Data store/messaging: SQL DB, Kafka, Elasticsearch
– SCM and CICD: gitlab
– Container orchestration and scalability: Docker, Kubernetes
– Deployment and provisioning: Terraform, HELM, Ansible
– Monitoring tool: ELK
– Cloud: GCP or others
– Script: shell, makefile
– OS: Linux
Nice to have
Experience with data and processes related to Time series management, Analytics, Transaction / Contract mechanisms, Payments
Experience on GDPR application and understanding of its main challenges from a technical point of view
Technical expertise in the next technology stack:
– Build: npm, poetry
– E2E automated test: Cypress, Postman
– Web server: traefik
– Application server: NodeJS, Flask, geoserver
