About the Role:

The Advanced Analytics function, sitting within the Data & Analytics, is responsible for leading and driving value from AIB’s data. The central goal of the Advanced Analytics function is to deliver business benefit from data, to inform decision making across the business. The Advanced Analytics function supports all areas across the business who are passionate about developing innovative and sustainable AI and Machine Learning products that deliver measurably high value for the business, and better and fairer outcomes for our customers, colleagues, and communities.

We comprise of a diverse mix of skills, from Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Reporting Analysts and Advanced Analytics Specialists, supporting and enabling internal and external stakeholders. We leverage a diverse and advanced analytics toolset to do so.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced data scientist to join a talented team of data scientists and machine learning engineers, delivering on data science initiatives, and supporting strategic development of the department. We will challenge you with real business problems and
will provide you with the tools to deliver innovative solutions
across many aspects of Data & Analytics. 

We’re looking for someone who has:

-Delivered a catalogue of machine learning use cases with proven value, utilising a broad spectrum of machine learning techniques.
-The ability to coach and mentor junior data scientists and emerging data scientists coming through AIB’s Data & Analytics Graduate programme.
-The ability to articulate data science concepts in business terms, know how to tell a story to highlight key insights, and present analysis effectively to key stakeholders.
-Significant hands-on experience with applying data mining, statistical analysis, modelling, machine learning, and experimentation across big datasets.
-Future focused mindset

continuously developing data science and AI knowledge, and ways of utilising new tools and techniques to tackle business and organisational challenges
-Has experience working within an MLOps framework, partnering with ML engineers to deploy, embed and scale machine learning models to deliver multiple projects.
-A strong understanding and appreciation of best practises in coding standards, versioning, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations.
-Effective at working independently and in collaboration with other team members.
-Able to plan work, set clear direction for self and others, and coordinate own tasks and team tasks in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment.
 

What you will bring:

-3rd Level qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and 3+ years industry experience as a data science practitioner.
-Track record for delivery, with a

catalogue of machine learning use cases developed with proven value, utilising a broad spectrum of machine learning techniques.
-Strong and demonstrable experience and expertise in statistics, coding, modelling, and experimentation.
-Expertise in Machine Learning libraries in Python such as: Scikit Learn, Keras, TensorFlow.
-Experience in the Pydata stack: Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, PySpark is a Plus.
-Experience in applied Data Science (supervised, semi-supervised or unsupervised learning).
-Knowledge of relational database technologies such as Teradata, or MySQL with strong SQL execution and optimisation skills.
-Experience creating visualisations and dashboards in Power BI, Tableau or Qlik.
-Strong working knowledge of SAS would be an advantage.
-Containerisation experience with docker or Kubernetes experience. Would be of benefit.
