We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a renowned American apparel brand known for its individuality. In this role, you’ll develop and maintain data processing architecture, workflows, and system integrations using Big Data and Cloud technologies, while collaborating with analysts and data scientists.Project information:

  • Industry: Retail
  • Remote work: 100% remote from EU
  • Budget: B2B: 1280 PLN/net/h + VAT
  • Contract length: long-term cooperation
  • Working hours: flexible during the day, Cooperation with US west-coast-based teams overlap with 9 am PDT (18:00 CET) every day
  • Start date: ASAP

Project scope:

  • Design, build, and deploy scalable infrastructure for distributed systems.
  • Develop and maintain architecture patterns for data processing and integration using Big Data and Cloud technologies.
  • Translate technical designs into workable solutions and industry-standard specifications.
  • Create reusable artifacts and establish automated processes for data analysis, modeling, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to assess downstream impacts.
  • Write efficient software for iterative product releases and promote good engineering practices.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Define data retention policies and monitor performance, recommending infrastructure changes.
  • Develop dashboards and analytics models using tools like Tableau, PowerBI, R, Python, and Spark.

Requirements:

  • University or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related field.
  • 5+ years as a software developer/data engineer.
  • Proficient in Big Data technologies and AI/ML lifecycle.
  • Strong experience with Databricks (PySpark, Spark SQL)
  • Experience with at least one cloud provider solution (Azure, AWS, GCP preferred)
  • Skilled in SQL databases and Python scripting.
  • Knowledgeable in transformation tools (DBT), Linux, and data pipeline management (Airflow preferred).
  • Proficient with GitHub and standard software engineering practices (unit testing, code reviews).
  • Experience in creating and optimizing data pipelines, databases, and filesystems.
  • Collaborative, with strong communication skills.
  • Experience in e-commerce, retail, or supply chains is a plus.
