That can be understanding what makes for a really valuable cohort and forecasting how we’ll perform, deciding how we measure a new product area or digging into why a metric has shifted. This role will focus on supporting the marketing team within the mission of the marketing and business analytics team. We’re not looking for a marketing operational expert, we’re looking for someone who can work with data at an expert level to understand the impacts of operational choices.You will work deeply with business leaders and operational experts so we make the right decision every time. The work you do has an impact on Lingokids every day – no more building reports no one will use!Responsibilities

  • Build tools so your operational partners can make informed decisions.
  • Model and predict likely long term outcomes from current information and connect these to recommended actions.
  • Segment users to help with targeting.
  • Build data pipeline and reporting.
  • Resolve ad hoc questions and problems.
  • Use a wide toolkit of techniques to understand root causes of changes in the data/user trends.
  • Help teams to formulate the right questions to understand what is happening.
  • Share insight – Really understand our business and users. Then communicate it!
  • Share understanding in weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reviews.
  • Take on deep dive projects to dig into specific groups or opportunities.
  • Share your findings in engaging ways through data storytelling.
  • Experimentation support.
  • Work with operational teams to design experiments that will give clear guidance on the right approach.
  • Interpret experiments results.
  • Consultancy/Advisory.
  • Have an opinion on the right course of action based on your analysis, and advise at all levels in the organisation.
  • Be comfortable working with uncertainty – no matter how good the data, we don’t know the future!

Example of Projects

  • Project the future value of cohorts based on early indicators.
  • Advise on the best mix of channels for long term value.
  • Build reporting (pipeline and dashboard) to help the partnership team make informed decisions on which partners to use and offers to give.
  • Work with the CRM team to design a series of experiments to optimise reminders.

What success looks like in 6 months

  • Trusted advisor to key stakeholders.
  • Completed multiple “what’s going on?” reviews.
  • Delivered 2 bigger insight projects with business impact.
  • Understand and can communicate how our marketing affects the business and what we should do next.

Desired experience

  • History of analysis with business impact. You’re comfortable taking data work all the way to real world recommendations.
  • History of business and scenario modelling including incrementality and long term value. You can work with uncertainty to give forward guidance.
  • Ability to communicate to senior stakeholders and operational teams.
  • Comfortable getting into detail and seeing big picture.
  • History of working with marketing and/or commercial teams.
  • Experience designing and analysing A/B tests and experiments.
  • Functional skills across the data spectrum:
  • Working out what to measure, building reporting and pipeline, extracting insight, sharing insight.
  • You are comfortable in SQL, spreadsheets and slides. Python a plus, but not required.

English is a must.
