The positions 

As a Senior Compliance Counsel, you will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders within the global commercial organisation. To address the increasing need for strong ethics & compliance, you will be expected to guide and advise the commercial organisation and co-develop global strategic activities and initiatives across different therapy areas in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment. 

The scope of responsibilities includes, but is not limited to: 

-Provide day-to-day advice, guidance and training on ethics & compliance related matters ensuring compliance with internal and external rules and regulations incl. data privacy  

-Support strategic activities and initiatives incl. partnerships and new business models within different therapy areas such as Diabetes, Obesity and Cardiovascular Diseases 

-Identifying and assessing ethics & compliance risks, performing gap analysis, and creating risk mitigation plans related to global commercial activities and initiatives 

-Support Governance and Secretariat work pertaining to global risk management working groups 

-Develop proactive guidance, tools and best practice materials 

-Review project proposals and grant/donations applications where relevant 

This is a unique opportunity to obtain valuable insights into Novo Nordisk’s business and will give you exposure to a large part of the global organisation.  

The role is anchored in BECO in Bagsværd (DK). To have a strong involvement in the day-to-day commercial activities, it will be also co-located in Søborg (DK) with the global commercial teams in Commercial Strategy & Corporate Affairs (CSCA). 

As part of the global ethics & compliance organisation, you would also be involved in global cross-functional tasks and projects within ethics & compliance. Additionally, various opportunities within Novo Nordisk in Denmark and abroad offer potential for further future personal opportunities and development. 

Qualifications  

To succeed in this role, you have a good grasp of international business, with several years of experience working with ethics & compliance in a global commercial setting, and you understand the complex regulatory environment that a pharmaceutical company like Novo Nordisk operates in. Experience from the pharmaceutical industry is not a must but will be considered an advantage.     

As a successful candidate, we expect you to have the following qualifications: 

-A master’s degree from a University or Business School within business administration, law, business law or equivalent 

-Minimum of 8+ years of experience perhaps working hands-on with ethics & compliance in a regulated industry and/or working as a consultant in a top-management consulting firm with experience from working with clients in a regulated industry 

-Strong ability to think strategically, lead and set direction in a complex global stakeholder landscape 

-Excellent skills in the MS toolbox as well as strong command of written and spoken English with the ability to communicate complex matters in a simple and compelling way 

-Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels within a global organisation 

-Ability to drive and participate in global cross-functional projects and managing complex stakeholder landscape

Furthermore, you are a team-player that can also work independently and enjoy being part of a global work environment. About the department  

The Business Ethics Compliance Office (BECO) develops and leads the implementation of Novo Nordisk’s global ethics & compliance strategy and programme, which focuses on the prevention of fraud, bribery, and off-label promotion. BECO is also responsible for Novo Nordisk’s global systems and processes related to tracking payments to healthcare professionals, as well as compliance with data protection regulations and respect for human rights.
