Siemens are looking for a Senior Commercial Manager to come and work closely with the Siemens Rail Infrastructure Senior management team in Scotland to commercial manage the Major Signalling portfolio. You will work as part of the Signalling Collaborative Partnership (between Siemens and Network Rail) to help deliver the Signalling workbank for the industry in line with Network Rails CP7 business plan. The Signaling Collaborative Partnership is committed to a collaborative ‘one team’ approach to delivering the best for Scotland’s Railway. The successful candidate must embed themselves in a collaborative and transparent culture to help add to the success of the partnership and help deliver both Network Rail and Siemens operational & financial commitments.

You’ll make a difference by…

  • Working in partnership to commercially manage the Signaling portfolio in Scotland to ensure financial portfolio objectives are met

  • Work closely with all disciplines involved in project delivery, including other business units within RI to ensure alignment and strong working relationships

  • Understand and promote the Siemens Rail Infrastructure UK strategy and drive the objectives in Scotland within the project teams

  • Commercially manage the portfolio in all aspects of pre & post contract activities to ensure commercial & business financial objectives are achieved

  • Manage the monthly PDR cycles ensuring cost control & financial reporting is accurate, reliable and forward looking

  • Ensure Siemens corporate & commercial governance processes are strictly adhered to

  • Work closely with our Sales & bids teams to ensure all opportunities are carefully considered, capitalized on and treated in line with Siemens Rail Infrastructure bid process.

  • Promote best practice within the commercial team to ensure a highly competent and diligent commercial team in Scotland

  • Ensure that all projects have live risk and opportunity trackers which are monitored regularly during the project lifecycle

  • Work closely with our Network Rail colleagues as part of Signalling Collaborative Partnership team to ensure all risks are monitored & managed, opportunities maximized & sales targets achieved

  • Work closely with the National Rail delivery & RAM team to build project budgets and navigate through Networks Investment Panel approval process.

  • Be aligned with National Rail business plan and objectives for CP7 & beyond and work with all stakeholders to help achieve.

Your success will be grounded by…

Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying

Chartered QS RICs – preferably but not essential
