The Position
As Senior Category Manager, you are responsible for developing category strategies, driving sourcing activities, and leading the contracting process. You will collaborate with our global external partners and together with the global Novo Nordisk teams secure that we deliver on all ambitions related to packaging materials.
Your key activities entail:
-Interacting actively with relevant parts of the organisation to understand the business needs
-Translating customer strategy and ambitions into tailored solutions, considering key sourcing criteria like sustainability, costs, timelines, technology, robustness, risks, and responsible sourcing
-Developing category strategies, identifying trends and dynamics, ensuring that relevant sourcing opportunities and risks are identified and acted upon
-Ensuring timely management of category fundamentals, such as contracting, supplier structures, and risk assessments in line with internal procedures
-Thriving with stakeholder management and understand the complexity of working in a large and global organisation
In Novo Nordisk, primary packaging material covers the packaging material directly in contact with our drug. SSIMS plays a pivotal role in making sure that the external network of suppliers is ready to support Novo Nordisk as we extensively grow our manufacturing footprint.
You will be working with suppliers and networks both in and outside Europe, hence you should expect 10 to 20 days of travel activities per year. This position holds ample opportunities for personal and professional development and will quickly establish you as the go-to person within your area.
The current office location is Bagsværd; however, the department will be relocating to Taastrup in 2025.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, we imagine you:
-Hold a master’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, engineering or any other relevant field coupled
-Demonstrate practical experience in the procurement or sourcing area, ideally in a complex organisation
-Possess a solid sourcing toolbox, a strong commercial drive, and the ability to drive projects forward leveraging from a broad range of input
-Bring experience within packaging materials obtained either from working in a position related to this area or already in procurement/strategic sourcing
-Showcase fluency in both spoken and written English
It would be considered as an advantage if you have experience within pharmaceutical or medical devices industry and are familiar with GMP requirements.
As a person, you have a strategic mind-set and an ability to quickly grasp different business models, the supply chain and the industry. Preferably, you have a keen interest and knowledge of packaging materials. You can put strategy into action by breaking the bigger picture down into sourcing related decisions. Additionally, you are a skilled project manager, with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of numbers. Lastly, you enjoy working in a multicultural and high-pace environment and bring a ‘can-do attitude’, and a healthy sense of humour to your work also when under pressure.
About the department
SSIMS is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division. We are responsible for securing that we have suppliers in place that can support Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production. Through collaboration with our international supplier networks, we ensure availability of the supply needed to develop and produce products that helps millions of people around the world to live with chronical diseases.
