The bank is in the process of leading a Digital Transformation across our Americas Division as we continue to modernize our technology, focus on our data driven approach, grow and plan for the future. As a result of this expansion, we are seeking an experienced Technical BA to join our Front Office Technology team.
The Front Office Business Analyst is responsible for liaising between front office business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. The objective of this role is to evaluate new IT developments and evolving business requirements and recommend appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems by analyzing business processes, systems and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Sales & Trading, and Control Function departments
  • Provide input during development and implementation phases, including formulation and definition of system scope, objectives and necessary system enhancements for complex, high-impact projects
  • Identify and communicate risks and impacts and propose risk mitigation options, considering business implications of the applications of technology to the current environment
  • Work directly with the Sales & Trading Desk to help find remedies to alleviate day-to-day issues
  • Analyze gaps in current flows to help with analysis of move to potential new platforms
  • Work with vendors to verify functional requirements and testing of new or updates to existing software products

Skills

Must have

– 7+ years of experience in bank capital markets as a business analyst with experience relating to Middle Office and/or Back office system implementations or equivalent operational experience
– Familiarity with job functions and processes in derivatives trading
– Fluent in converting user requirements into usable technical specifications for Development
– Strong communication/presentation skills (written and oral) in cross-cultural business environment
– Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
– Strong skills working with MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, MS Power Point & SharePoint
– Hands-on experience with manual or automated testing environments.
– Strong work ethic with focus on meeting deadlines and objectives.

Nice to have

– Advanced MS Excel & MS SQL experience a plus
– Basic understanding of components of regulation: Capital Standards, Confirmations, Clearing, Portfolio Reconciliation, industry-standard Margining and Collateralization practices and Trade Repository Reporting is a big plus.
– Bachelor’s degree. Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
