Job description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work with children who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to support children with their learning, including providing one-to-one support, small group work and assisting with classroom management.The ideal candidate will be able to:

• Work effectively as part of a team within the classroom ensuring that all the children are looked after and learning from the taught content
• Work 1:1 with children with SEN
• Work coherently with teachers in providing support for students
• Have a passion for assisting students
• Be enthusiastic and proactive in the classroom
• Have experience working 1:1 with children who have barriers to learning (ASD, ADHD, PMLD, VI, HI)
• Experience working within an SEN school setting or social care
• Promote and encourage independence and personal development

Candidates that have been successful within this setting have had some experience in any of the following:

• Scouts Leadership
• Sports Coaching
• Ex – Forces
• Challenging Behaviour Settings
• Health and Social Care Settings
• 1:1 Support
• SEN TA
• Educational Settings
