Full Time Primary SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD) needed in Marsworth starting September 2024Start Date: September 2024Location: Marsworth, BuckinghamshireHours: Full timeAbout the role:Our client is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate ADHD Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team, starting in September 2024. As an ADHD Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to support children with ADHD and related needs, ensuring they receive tailored assistance in their academic and social development. You will play a key role in providing one-on-one and group support, helping children stay engaged in lessons, and developing strategies to enhance focus, learning outcomes, and positive behaviour.The role will require the following responsibilities:

• Provide targeted support to children with ADHD in both one-on-one and small group settings.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities in line with each child’s individual education plan (IEP).
• Help students develop effective coping strategies for managing ADHD in the classroom environment.
• Support children in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour management.
• Work closely with class teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to monitor and assess student progress.
• Build positive relationships with students, promoting self-confidence and resilience.
• Contribute to creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom atmosphere.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• Previous experience working with children with ADHD or other special educational needs (SEN) in a school or similar environment.
• Relevant qualifications in teaching assistance or SEN support (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and an understanding of ADHD and its impact on learning and behaviour.
• Knowledge of strategies and tools for supporting students with ADHD, including behaviour management techniques.
• Experience working with other learning needs alongside ADHD (e.g., autism, dyslexia).
• A willingness to engage in further training and professional development.
