Job Title: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Multiple locations across SE LondonPosition Type: Full TimeStart Date: ASAPJob Description:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant and inclusive school in SE London. This full-time role is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a meaningful impact on their educational journey.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials to suit the learning styles of SEN students.
  • Promote an inclusive learning environment, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
  • Help students develop social skills and manage their behavior in accordance with school policies.
  • Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to monitor and record students’ progress.
  • Support students with personal care needs as required.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to provide regular updates on student progress and collaborate on effective strategies for support.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is essential.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of various SEN conditions and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of SEN students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
