SEN Teaching Assistant – LevenshulmeTeaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time role is set to begin immediately and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance. The pay for this role is between £419.25 and £500 per week.Role Overview:As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the school. This position requires a compassionate and patient individual who is committed to helping students overcome their barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.Key Responsibilities:1:1 and Small Group Support: Work closely with students who have SEN, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs. This may involve one-on-one assistance or working with small groups, helping students to access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities.Learning and Behavioural Support: Assist students with both their academic learning and behavioural development. You will work alongside teachers to implement effective strategies that promote positive behaviour and support students’ emotional and social development.Differentiated Learning: Adapt teaching materials and resources to suit the learning styles and abilities of students with SEN. Your role will involve breaking down complex tasks into manageable steps, ensuring that all students can engage with the content.Progress Monitoring: Track the academic and social progress of the students you support. Regularly report back to the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and teaching staff, providing insights that will help shape future interventions and support strategies.Inclusive Classroom Environment: Foster an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported. Encourage participation from students with SEN, ensuring they have the confidence to contribute and succeed in their studies.Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management plans. Your input will be crucial in ensuring that each student’s needs are met effectively.Pastoral Care: Provide emotional and social support to students with SEN. You will be a trusted figure students can rely on for guidance and assistance, helping them to navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom.Support during Transitions: Assist students during key transition times, such as moving between classes or during unstructured periods like lunch and break times. Your support will help students feel secure and maintain positive behaviour throughout the school day.Requirements:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
