Are you looking to join a new role in September 2024Teaching personnel are looking for a SEN Teaching assistant to help support the teaching staff to develop and provide quality learning for pupils with special education needs. This will range from a wide variety of physical, emotional and behavioural needs, you will help to encourage pupils to be engaged and interested to make them feel safe and happy in a learning environment.The school is located in West Drayton and is a lovely school who are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEMH needs, the school are looking for someone who is resilient, empathetic but also firm to be able to support the pupil who has suffered some trauma. The school are willing to invest in the right person by providing support and a plan but they also need someone who is willing to take responsibility and implement their own ideas and not be afraid to ask for support if something doesnt go well.if you have expereicne with supporting SEN children then this is the role for you!What we offer!

Main roles and responsibilities –

  • Help assist the lead teacher enable each pupil to access their curriculum.
  • Engage with playground activities.
  • Implement a plan provided by the school.
  • Support and encourage the development of pupil’s education.
  • Build relationships
  • Look after pupils physical, emotional and social welfare.
  • Keep records and attend review meetings.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians.
  • 1:1 Support
  • Ensure childrens saftey at all times.

Key skills and requirements –

  • Have experience working with SEN pupils.
  • Friendly and compassionate.
  • Patient.
  • Resilient.
  • Sensitivity and understanding.
  • Understanding SEN needs.
  • Excellent verbal communication.
  • Confident working in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
