Data Strategy & design

Finance, Legal & Global Solutions

Denmark, Bagsværd

Are you passionate about data and technology? Are you a front-end developer? Do you enjoy applying best practices and bring them into your work? Do you love collaborating with your colleagues and with stakeholders bringing them along your own professional development? If so, we would like to hear from you.

Your new role

As a Semantic Model Developer, you’ll own the design and delivery of semantic models that enable finance teams to explore, understand, and act on data with confidence. Working within our Front-end team, you’ll transform raw data into structured, business-ready models using Microsoft Fabric—creating the foundation for dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analysis across the global Finance organization.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

– Developing, maintaining, and owning semantic models and datasets for self-service reporting and analytics using Microsoft Fabric

– Collaborating closely with Finance teams to capture semantic requirements and ensure models accurately reflect business logic and core finance processes

– Translating business requirements into technical solutions that deliver measurable value, working alongside product owners, analysts, and architects

– Enabling and supporting business consumers in using semantic models effectively for dashboards, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis

– Applying best practices in data modelling, star schemas, and semantic layer design to create user-friendly data products

– Ensuring data quality, governance, security, and compliance across all semantic models

– Working in cross-functional, agile teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions

Your new department

You’ll join Enterprise Platforms within Novo Nordisk IT, where we deliver a robust and scalable data foundation that enables the global Finance organization to operate efficiently and make insight-driven decisions. Our Finance Data Centre brings together solution architects, developers, analysts, and data engineers from diverse technical and multinational backgrounds. Together, we design, build, and maintain data solutions that support core finance processes—with collaboration, business focus, and technical excellence at the heart of how we work. Our overarching goal is to use data to gain new understandings, drive optimizations, and create true business value for Finance, Novo Nordisk, and ultimately the patients we serve.

In Finance, Legal & Global Solutions, we enable Novo Nordisk to fulfil our purpose by safeguarding the business, providing corporate infrastructure, and driving value creation. We are a team of 2,300 colleagues primarily based at our headquarters in Denmark and our Global Business Services centres in India and Mexico.

Your skills & qualifications

We’re looking for someone with strong technical expertise in semantic modelling and a genuine curiosity about finance data and processes. You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:

– Proven experience building semantic models in Microsoft Fabric (or Fabric-centric environments)

– Strong understanding of data modelling concepts, star schemas, and semantic layer best practices

– Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data transformation tools within Fabric

– Knowledge of Power BI, DAX, or other front-end reporting tools

– Experience collaborating with business stakeholders to design user-friendly data products

– Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate finance needs into technical solutions

– A collaborative mindset and willingness to work in agile, cross-functional teams

– Strong quality and delivery focus, with the ability to produce robust, production-ready solutions

– Commitment to data governance, security, and compliance

– Fluent spoken and written English

Nice to have:

– Experience working in a regulated industry or financial organization

– Interest in or understanding core finance processes such as accounting and consolidation
