This role helps ensure the sustained continuity of technical mastery and line leadership in manufacturing, by leading a key line of the business (technical, system or organizational) to deliver results defined by the compelling business need of the site. You ensure that key business results are achieved and for developing others to ensure the sustained continuity of technical mastery on the manufacturing line. Using a systematic approach, you use strategic thinking skills to ensure results are sustained over the long term.

How you will contribute

In your likely first managerial role, you will ensure that Mondelēz International’s safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets are achieved for the lines for which you are responsible by breaking down section targets into line and unit targets and ensuring that employees understand their individual performance goals related to the overall targets. In this role, you will also develop budgets and be responsible for costs control management, governance and compliance, loss elimination and workforce planning, including recruitment, retention, development, succession planning, and the identification of high potential team members. Without you, we would not be able to deliver high-quality snacks to our customers.

  • Maintaining equipment at basic conditions independently, including the execution of AM & PM (break-down maintenance, planned maintenance) standards on dedicated equipment

  • Total productive maintenance and Six Sigma including qualification of AM steps 5-6, and PM step 3

  • Leading line teams

  • Handling challenging interpersonal situations tactfully

  • Influencing people in a union environment

  • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing and a good attention to detail

Purpose of the role

The Section Manager for Process & Snacks is accountable for leading, managing, and coordinating all activities related to the conversion process.

The role ensures efficient production processes that meet planned volumes, are delivered on time, at the lowest costs, and meet required quality and SSE (Safety, Security, and Environment) standards.

This position also plays a critical role in supporting the site’s growth, the adoption of new working methodologies (e.g., IL6S, HPWS), and implementing solid foundations for the plant’s CBN journey.

This includes developing strong processes, fostering continuous improvement, and supporting the growth of the people within the section.

Main Responsibilities

Safety & Quality

  • Ensure all products meet MEU product specifications and adhere to quality requirements, including HACCP, GMP, and safety regulations.

  • Drive cultural change by acting as a Safety Leader and actively supporting and role modeling SSE programs.

  • Ensure safety regulations are followed by all production team members, reinforcing safe behavior and compliance.

Operations

  • Responsible for the Section’s operational and financial performance, ensuring alignment with the annual operating plan.

  • Plan the section’s annual budget with support from the section controller and approval from MEU. Track and report on the monthly budget.

  • Oversee line efficiency, yield, rework, scrap, line manning, and production volume, identifying and implementing improvements to drive productivity and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., M&R, Logistics, BD&E, Finance, HR) and suppliers to deliver consumer value opportunities and enhance operational performance.

Service Level

  • Deliver production plans based on defined demand requirements and ensure compliance with short-term scheduling in line with mid-/long-term plans.

  • Drive weekly service from the supply side, managing service levels and supply failure KPIs.

  • Ensure flexibility in production output by managing labor planning, including temporary workers, seasonal staff, and vacation schedules, while preparing contingency plans as needed.

Leading Team

  • Act as a change agent, translating and communicating the CBN strategy to your teams.

  • Develop and coach operational teams to achieve autonomy, leveraging teamwork for 100% engagement and flexibility.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive operational and financial improvements through effective deployment of CI/TPM (IL6S) programs and practices.

  • Challenge machine standards, work processes, and systems to identify opportunities for profit margin enhancement.

  • Lead improvement projects and collaborate with Business Development, RD&Q, and other teams to implement new products, processes, and promotional initiatives.

  • Partner with IL6S (WCM equivalent) pillar leaders to implement the IL6S model, develop best practices, and ensure site commitments are met.

  • Lead the TPM implementation in the conversion area, including transfer activities between M&R and production teams, while coaching staff.

Career experiences required

  • University degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with people management responsibilities.

  • 5+ years of experience in the food industry (preferably dairy).

  • Fluency in French and English.

  • Proven experience in Continuous Improvement (CI), TPM (WCM), and Conversion Management.

  • Experience working with strong trade unions.

  • Experience in maintenance management and logistics (preferred).
