Secretary – Case and Secretarial Assistance (DMA)
Directorate-General for Competition (DG COMP) of the
European Commission
Selection reference: COMP/COM/2025/2054
Domain: Support Staff
Where: Unit COMP.J.3 – „Digital Platforms III“, Brussels
Staff category and Function Group: Temporary agent 2b – Secretary
Grade range: SC1-2
Publication deadline: 24.10.2025 – 12.00 (Brussels time)
WE ARE
Directorate COMP.J of the DG Competition is entrusted with the enforcement of the Digital
Markets Act (DMA) and Articles 101 and 102 TFEU in relation to digital platforms. The DMA is one
of the first regulatory tools to regulate comprehensively the gatekeeper power of the largest
digital platforms. It aims to make the markets in the digital sector fairer and more contestable.
The DMA therefore complements the EU competition rules that continue to apply to this sector
and will continue to be enforced by DG Competition.
Directorate COMP.J cooperates closely with Directorate COMP.C, responsible for the enforcement
of EU competition rules in the sectors of electronic communications, media and the information
technology industry, and with DG Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG
CONNECT). Furthermore, it cooperates with other Commission Services on policy initiatives in
relation to digital platforms.
Unit COMP.J.3 Digital Platforms III works with the other units in the directorate, namely units
COMP.J.1 and COMP.J.2 in a flexible network. The network allows for task-oriented resource
allocation in implementing and enforcing the Digital Markets Act and the antitrust rules and for
agility in responding to new challenges in the sector.
WE PROPOSE
Unit J-3 of DG Competition is offering one challenging and interesting position as a secretary (case
and secretarial assistance) within a friendly, motivating and efficient environment. The main task is
to provide, in close cooperation with the other secretaries, administrative, case and logistic support
to the managers and case handlers of the Directorate, including preparing all the necessary
administrative documents/steps throughout the relevant case-handling procedures.
WE LOOK FOR
We are looking for a motivated and dynamic colleague who enjoys teamwork. The post requires
reliability and accuracy, service culture, discretion and good organisational skills. The candidate
should demonstrate a sense of initiative and willingness to assume responsibilities, as well as the
ability to work both as a member of a team and independently. The candidate should have good
knowledge of the standard IT tools (e.g. Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) and ideally already be
familiar with specific IT tools used in the Commission (e.g. MIPS, SYSPER, ARES). A good command
of English is essential. The knowledge of any other language, as well as familiarity with
Commission procedures and the working methods of DG COMP would be an additional advantage.
