The mission of H0ME.A3 is to formulate and implement DG HOME’S external policies on migration and security, thereby contributing to: (1) advising, negotiating, and implementing coherent and comprehensive EU external strategies and engagement with third countries that align with the EU’s migration and security priorities, (2) delivering consistent and effective responses to key external migration and security challenges facing the European Union, (3) promoting the rights and values underpinning the European area of freedom, security and justice in relations with third countries.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic policy area with opportunities to contribute to highly topical files and to work with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
WE PROPOSE
Unit HOME A.3 is looking for a Secretary/Administrative Agent to join the secretariat team of the International Affairs Unit.
We are offering a Secretary/Administrative Agent (A5T/5C) position for a motivated and committed colleague who would like to make a positive contribution through a wide range of administrative and coordination tasks.
The successful candidate will provide administrative, logistical and organisational support to Unit HOME A3, and in particular to the Head of Unit.
Tasks will include managing agendas, organising events and meetings, processing correspondence, attributing briefings, handling inter-service consultations and access-to-documents requests, managing parliamentary questions, following up on HR matters, monitoring deadlines, and coordinating missions and briefing packages.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual and strong team player.
Essential experience and skills:
- At least two years of professional experience in operational and administrative support. •Service-minded and dynamic, with the ability to manage his/her own work flexibly.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to prioritise tasks, work proactively and contribute to problem solving.
- Excellent coordination, interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong sense of initiative and responsibility.
- Fluency in English (Cl level) and a good command of French (B2 level).
Advantageous/Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Commission procedures and IT tools (ARES, MIPS, Decide, Sysper).
- Experience in document management, registration, filing of documents and in handling access-to- documents requests (ATD).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines, combined with a strong team spirit.
