Perform welding, brazing, and cutting on any type of metal, using gas and electric welding equipment.

Job Description:

Essential Duties:

• Weld metal components together or cuts to fabricate or repair structural members or machinery used at the mine.
• Perform welding, brazing and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.
• Follow layouts, blueprints or work orders to measure and set up the required work to meet standards.
• Inspect equipment to locate and repair cracks in metal parts/structural members.
• Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures and state and federal environmental regulations.

Other Duties:

• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must have solid understanding of welding principles, metallurgy and mechanical principles and be able to set up rigging.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to work rotating 12-hour shift work

Education and Experience:

On-the-job training or vocational training (minimum qualifications for job advertisement – must pass the necessary written and practical tests for this position.)
