SAN Vet is the animal health branch of SAN Group. These are the tasks we trust in you:
- Development and optimization of real-time PCR tests for diagnostic applications using bioinformatics tools and software
- Planning and leading research projects at various stages of the product development process (design, testing, optimization, validation) in close collaboration with different business units
- Implementation of new molecular biology techniques and methods to further develop the portfolio
- Development and supervision of a team of technical staff and students
- Staying current with scientific developments in this field through literature and conferences
To grow in this position, it requires the following:
- A degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a comparable field
- Several years of solid experience in developing, conducting, and validating real-time PCR tests or related molecular diagnostic tools in a research or industrial setting
- Extensive lab experience with nucleic acids (DNA/RNA extraction and quantification)
- Experience in the veterinary or human diagnostic field is an advantage
- Additional experience in PoC (point-of-care) solutions based on nucleic acid quantification is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to plan and execute complex projects independently
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
