  • At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research.
  • Your research focuses on renewable fuel for internal combustion engines, for those applications that are hard or impossible to directly electrify
  • You will be involved in research projects, industry and service assignments
  • Your tasks will include simulations of engine operation on renewable fuels; possibly measurements on combustion engines or combustion chambers; cost-benefit analyses of renewable fuels for various applications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a thesis-based doctorate (obtained max. 6 years ago. This term of 6 years is determined by the date written on the above-mentioned required diploma).
  • This PhD degree is preferably in the discipline of Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering. Doctorates in Engineering Physics, exact sciences or equivalent will also be considered.
  • Your PhD is preferably in the field of internal combustion engines and alternative fuels;
  • You have extensive experience in combustion engine modelling, preferably concerning the evaporation of liquid fuels after injection;
  • Experience in measurement on internal combustion engines is highly recommended;
  • You have a very good oral and written command of English;
  • You have extensive experience in presenting and reporting your work;
  • You take initiative and responsibility, are a problem solver and enjoy working in a team.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a contract of indefinite duration with a maximum term of 2 years.
  • Your contract will start on 1/09/2024 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale PD1.
