An exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher, or someone new to the profession, to teach KS3 and KS4 Science at this successful and growing academy.Having achieved the best results in the school’s history in summer 2023, followed by a visit from Ofsted in May 2024, where we were judged as a strong ‘Good’ in all areas, Buckler’s Mead Academy is going from strength to strength. As part of this development we wish to appoint an ambitious teacher to join our Science department from January 2025 (or earlier subject to negotiation). Full time preferred but part time hours will be considered.Science is a highly regarded subject at Buckler’s Mead Academy. Over recent years, the subject has seen rapid improvements in KS4 outcomes alongside curriculum and teaching developments. The Science Department is a well led, highly supportive and cohesive team. We welcome applications from candidates from a wide range of Science backgrounds and subject specialisms. We are looking for someone who is passionate about their subject, who shares our vision and values and is eager to make a genuine difference to our students.The successful candidate should be:
- Hard working and fully committed to the ethos of the academy.
- Confident in teaching Science at KS3 and KS4.
- Enthusiastic and willing to try new ideas, taking responsibility for new initiatives.
- Keen to support the teaching of excellence by improving student outcomes.
- Someone with sky high expectations of students, whilst fully appreciating the need to provide encouragement and support to students of all abilities.
- Capable of working with staff from all areas of the academy, external agencies and partner schools.
- Interested in continuing professional development.
