Job Advertisement: Science Graduate Teaching AssistantTeaching Personnel is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated “Good” secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time position begins in January and runs until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of a permanent role depending on performance.About the Role:
As a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support the school’s Science Department, helping students to succeed in their studies and develop a passion for the subject. This role is ideal for a recent Science graduate considering a career in education or looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school setting.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support for students in Science lessons, working with individuals or small groups to help them understand key concepts and overcome learning barriers.
  • Assist teachers in preparing and delivering engaging, interactive lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Support students preparing for assessments, including GCSEs, by offering guidance and revision strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff to help tailor learning approaches.
  • Contribute to classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and engagement in lessons.
  • Help develop lesson materials and resources to enhance the learning experience.
  • Support extracurricular Science activities and events, encouraging students to explore their interest in the subject.

This role will allow you to inspire young learners, contribute to their academic success, and gain experience that could lead to teacher training or other educational opportunities.What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in a Science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar).
  • Demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for Science and a desire to help students succeed.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Be proactive, patient, and adaptable, with a focus on meeting the individual needs of students.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, supporting teachers and collaborating with other staff members.
  • Be organized and reliable, with a commitment to making a positive impact on students’ learning.
  • Be available full-time from January to the end of the academic year.

Experience working with young people, whether in education, tutoring, or other settings, is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.What We Offer:
