EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 3 years of post-related experience. Or a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related experience
Basic knowledge of the following transmission related topics: Electromagnetic antenna theory; Energy per bir to noise power spectral density ratio versus Bit Error Rate; Effective Isotropic Radiated Power calculations; Fourier analysis; Phase, Vector and Spectrum analysis; Various modulation techniques; Error coding theory; Fresnel zones
Basic mechanical and electrical engineering skills for deployable terminals (Elevation and Azimuth motor drives, servo drives, mechanical and electrical sensors and transducers
Basic Fibre Optic measurements techniques knowledge, Singleand Multi-Mode, on industrial and/or military tactical cabled networks
Understanding IP basics of Local and Wide Area Networking
Experience in reading complex system documentation and diagrams (electrical and mechanical) and fault finding techniques in UHF and SHF band based deployable transmission systems
Fault finding experience in complex HF, VHF, UHF and SHF based transmission systems, including systems with various antenna configurations
Experience in recognizing digital Modulation Techniques: Phase, Frequency and Amplitude Shift Keying and various analogue and Angle Modulation Techniques
Experience in performing measurements on antenna and subunits: Low Noise Amplifier, Low Noise Block Down Converter, orthomode transducer and Radio Frequency, microwave and electronic components
Experience in configuring data test equipment to test radio based transmission systems in line with IP protocols (RFC 2544) and Data communication protocols (G.821/823)
Reconfiguring satellite systems in line with provided parameters, timing, Error coding, modulation, Data rate, Bandwidth, Frequency Offsets
Applying Non-Ionizing Radiation safety measures in line with ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection) and/or NATO standard agreement (STANAG) 2345ed
Advanced understanding of power cabling and associated subsystems, grounding and bonding, copper based structured cabling, understanding of fibre based structured cabling, working understanding of fibre optic modems, line drivers, media converters
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
Valid Driving License
Truck and Trailer driving license (C, E) or equivalent
Forklift License
Experience of repair and testing of High and Medium Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) based power amplifiers in X and Ku band, including power supplies
Experience of repair and testing solid state power amplifiers in X and Ku band
Experience in fault finding and reconfiguring advanced satellite network management systems
Configuring and testing encrypted link protection systems in line with set NATO Standard Agreement STANAG 4606 or equivalent; Applying electrical safety testing conform EU norm EN 50110 or equivalent national norm (NEN 3140)
Extensive experience with respect to reading and understanding wiring diagrams, logic circuitry, flow charts, schematic drawings and technical data sheets
Configuring frequency based reference systems and modems using NORAD Two Line Elements or IRIG time coding
Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT
DUTIES/ROLE:
Assist in planning, preparation, coordination, execution and reporting of Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Inspections
(PMI/CMI) of the various transmission assets
Assist in preparation of future upgrades of the DCIS transmission systems providing feedback and drafting Technical Notes and further implementation of the approved changes
Provide on-site or remote support and guidance to the users referring to the transmission issues reported to NCIA FSP (including but not limited to ITSM tickets)
Where needed, coordinate with other NCI Agency internal stakeholders technical aspects of the performed work
Performs all the duties respective to KPIs set by the DCIS service level agreement
