Listed Execution – F&O

Do you have strong attention to detail and a deep-seated understanding of front to back processes within a global market business? Are you interested in a role that will leverage your skills across the Equities Futures and Options platform both in a BAU and ongoing improvement capacity?

By joining Citi’s Equity Listed Execution desk, you will primarily be responsible for the smooth processing and front to back straight through processing (STP) between the execution platforms and risk management systems. The role will initially require you to help the desk to improve current workflows and provide support with the various partners of the desk to improve STP and processes. As you become more familiar with the business you would inherit added trade execution responsibilities servicing the day-to-day execution of various listed equity futures and options between client and house whilst adhering to the regulatory and operational process and risk associated with execution.

What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are :

Your role will be to maintain increased visibility and coordination with the over the counter OTC , Derivative Sales & Trading teams and other key ICG businesses to ensure that process and protocol are adhered to and continuously monitored through:

  • Improving and streamlining processes to ensure smooth execution and post trade admin.

  • Working with Compliance to provide regular training to keep sales and trading up to date on rules and regulations pertaining to order management process.

  • To partner the trading/quants team to ensure optimum STP from the execution platforms and working with the traders to provide a solution-based approach to some of the current booking issues.

  • Identify and help to resolve any issues that relate to STP failure to risk system and working closely with Operations and Technology to resolve.

  • Will be expected to partake in weekly calls with operations and product control to identify escalation items for aged breaks and help with resolution.

  • You will partner with desk heads to assist or lead on a myriad of projects, aimed to help with cost saving ideas, through to implementation.

  • Help to internalise house hedges to avoid crossing the spread on screen.

What we will need from you:

  • You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of supporting the leadership directives and focus of the business.

  • Proven interpersonal and problem-solving skills with an ability to demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication.

  • Strong knowledge around the future & options products, working with the various exchanges to stay ahead of the curve with future product roll outs, developments and how these can benefit client portfolios.

  • A background of process improvement whilst partnering the Business, Compliance and Technology.

  • Uphold best practice with ethics and risk management, displaying and nurturing best practice and optimal culture.

  • An understanding of how to assess the risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions, demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

If you are not currently a certified person, we will expect you to work towards completing UK Regs, Derivatives, Securities and Eurex exams to be qualified to assist with execution on the desk.
