  • Manage the customer account – current business and new business acquisition Identify and develop high-level contacts with customers and develop professional networks
  • Provide internal feed-back (marketing, R&D…) from the market/customers and contribute to the development of products and offers
  • Understand competitive environment, competitive innovation and technology
  • Manage a team of sales people and develop actively the competencies among the team members
  • Selling price index management
  • Squeeze management (material margin)

Activities

  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate response to customer requests and to ensure
  • commercial offers are in line with company policy and strategy
  • Cultivate cross departmental customer contacts at all levels
  • Manage accounts through knowledge of customer needs, systems and requirements
  • Develop and share knowledge (with marketing, R&D)of the competitive situation
  • Adapt PO offer to customer needs (competitive advantages, needs anticipation…)
  • Together with GAD/Sales Director, define the commercial strategy for the customer in terms of part price, investment price, study and development costs
  • Support the GAD/Sales Director in the compilation of Customer Strategy Reviews; BusCom preparation; Budget & StratPlan (Be aware of and adhere to the BusCom process)
  • Pilot the completion of the technical and commercial offer liaising with the whole project team
  • Lead the negotiation with the customer’s purchasing center
  • Be responsible for price evolution (development, serial life, after-market) and the negotiation on price variation
  • Be responsible for the payment by the customer of tooling, study prices, logistics costs and serial parts at SOP, or according to negotiated terms
  • Keep abreast of R&I projects and their results
  • May be part of the project team (Optimap) as CPM reporting functionally to the PM
  • Facilitate relationships between plant and customer
  • Participate in productivity studies with the plants
  • Gather and formalize customer satisfaction information and propose actions plans
  • Validate all price offers made by sales engineers before being released to the customer
  • Follow up all customer projects’ profitability (throughout project life and serial life)

Competences requirementsBachelor degree (Engineering , business school)5 or more years’ experience in automotive sales and/or engineering program developmentNegotiation skillsAble to develop customer contacts within the customer baseCommercially astute with knowledge of finance to enable quotation completion and subsequent negotiationCommercially aware of potential business opportunities and assess business risk English languageAble to create robust relationships and to inspire confidenceExcellent written and oral skills – good communicator, presenterAble to interact with senior managementAs a responsible company, Plastic Omnium pays particular attention to diversity and equality within its teams and the Group commits to treat all job applications equally.
