Risk & Compliance OfficerDescription
- You will be part of the legal, audit, compliance & risk team with colleagues in Belgium, the US, and China, and will have daily contacts with colleagues worldwide working in general management, sales, R&D, operations, supply chain and other functions.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Support of the company wide compliance management program:
- managing the worldwide export control management system, handling legal blocks, analysing end-user statements, customer’s questionnaires, etc.
- organizing trainings and awareness campaigns, preparing reports on the status of the compliance management program, assistance with drafting the annual report;
- drafting and implementing of compliance related policies, guidelines and the updates thereof;
- ensuring the liaison with, and preparing the yearly ‘risk and compliance gap analysis’ interviews with the country managers for the subsidiaries across the globe;
- organizing and preparing trainings on specific compliance domains, such as export control;
- assistance with compliance assessments
- Support of the risk and insurance management program:
- Administrative management of the worldwide insurance program, electronic filing of global and local insurance policies, liaising with insurance brokers, processing of insurance certificates, handling insurance claims.
- Back-up for business-critical tasks related to the legal operations.
- Over time, upon the incumbent’s retirement, assist the legal counsels with a broad range of legal tasks, such as board and shareholders resolutions, annual shareholders meetings, reporting of litigation, insider transactions, and other disclosures, NDA review, payment of legal fees, etc.
- You will report to the Global Compliance Manager.
Profile
- You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- experience, ideally gained at the legal department of an international company, will be considered a plus.
- You have some familiarity with basic compliance, regulatory and insurance principles.
- You are well acquainted with the standard MS Office packages such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and ideally also Sharepoint as well as SAP ERP-system.
- You have an excellent command of Dutch and English, both oral and written. Additional language skills will definitely be a plus.
- Finally, you have good communication skills, and are a pro-active, solution-oriented and resilient team-player with a can-do mentality and a good sense of humor.
