All rights reserved.Vilafranca SiteRESEARCHER IIAbout the jobWe are looking for a Senior Researcher experienced in the formulation, manufacture, application and testing of Food Metal Packaging coatings, to join our team in Vilafranca del Penedès.

• Plan and organize work on a daily and weekly basis with oversight from senior team members.
• Formulate, prepare, apply and test the mechanical and chemical properties of coatings using established test methods and procedures to complete Laboratory Work Requests (LWRs) within agreed timescales.
• Carry out programs of work in support of new product development projects following the StageGate® process within agreed timescales.
• Use design of experiments methodology where appropriate.
• Record all results in an accurate and clear manner.
• Contribute to AkzoNobel’s commitment to HSE excellence
• Share results with other internal teams and regional R&D teams via team meetings, project reviews etc

About you

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in Laboratory roles.
• Master’s or PHD level education.
• High level of English and Spanish. Other languages are a plus.
• Experience in industrial companies or Coatings/paint industries.
• Experience in UV Technology would be valued.
• Knowledge of polymer chemistry, principles and practice is highly valued.
• Experience in the use of statistical experimental design is highly valued.
