In addition, it supports national and international research, popularization and educational initiatives related to AI model analysis and is involved in methodological support for key initiatives related to AI security and transparency in Poland.We are looking for an ambitious and committed scientist with strong research experience and relevant technical competence to set up and lead the Department working on the topics of security, transparency and ethics of artificial intelligence methods.Tasks: * Nurturing the Department’s vision and mission

  • Co-managing the Department’s portfolio of research and development initiatives
  • Direct participation in coordinating and conducting scientific research in the Department
  • Scientific and technical cooperation of the Department within NASK and with external entities
  • Publication activities and raising funds for ongoing projects

  • Doctoral degree in the disciplines of information and communication technology, computer and information sciences, mathematics or related disciplines or a professorial title in the field of natural sciences/engineering and technology;
  • Documented scientific achievements (publications in national and international journals, conference presentations, participation in scientific and research and development projects);
  • Recognized expertise in the area of artificial intelligence issues such as: explainability, security and/or ethics of artificial intelligence;
  • Proficiency in Polish and English;
  • Proven experience in leading scientific and R&D projects and/or scientific teams;
  • Experience in successfully supporting the scientific development of junior researchers (supervising/assisting positively completed theses and/or doctoral dissertations);
  • Ability to create documents and presentations in LaTeX and office packages and materials to promote scientific achievements;
  • Willingness to further scientific development in the discipline of technical informatics and telecommunications, a clear vision of interesting research directions in the field of artificial intelligence and ethics issues related to these areas, supported by the knowledge of the current state of knowledge in this field.

Academic internships in renowned research centers will be an added advantage.Specific RequirementsApplication should include: * a curriculum vitae containing a description of the candidate’s scientific achievements, in particular:

  • a list of research projects in which the candidate/candidate has participated, including the role of the candidate/candidate in the project;
  • a list of projects managed and implemented by the applicant;
  • list of publications;
  • list of positions held.
  • a motivation letter addressed to the Director of NASK – PIB, containing, in particular: an outline of the vision of the research directions of the Department, no more than 2 pages of A4 format – a full presentation of the vision will be expected from the candidates during the interview;
  • a statement of consent to the processing of personal data for recruitment purposes,
  • copies of educational evidence.
